In loving memory of Denise E. Nelson of West Union, Iowa, who departed this world on January 21, 2025 at the age of 68. Denise leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Delores LaRayne Berger (Miller) and Robert Berger; her parents-in-law, Dee and Barney Nelson; her stepdaughter Kerry Nelson; her niece Kellie Velde; and her sister-in-law Linda Nelson.

She is survived by: her husband Bill Nelson of West Union, Iowa; her children, Christopher Grocholski of McGregor, Cassie Rothmeyer (Tyler) of Osage and Abigail Nelson (Nickolas Jarka) of West Union, Iowa; her grandchildren, Hailey Schaer, Hannah Schaer, Jamison Rothmeyer and Ella Rothmeyer; and her brother David Berger (Deborah Logan) of Bluffton.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery (1301 W Charles St, Oelwein, IA 50662).
