We are sad to announce that on October 12, 2020, at the age of 70, Nicholas James Schwartz (West Point, Iowa), born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Nicholas James Schwartz to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Schwartz and Helen Schwartz (Greiner); and his sister Mary Ellen Williams. He is survived by: his wife Nicky Nichting; his children, Mindy Ward (Chad), Lindsey Forquer (Jesse), Luke Schwartz (Brittni) and Philip Schwartz (Kayla); his grandchildren, Noah, Faith Ward, Nicholas "Cale" Schwartz and Coy Forquer; and his sisters, Judy Neuweg (Glenn) and Wilma Wellman (Marvin). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Those attending are required to wear a mask and social distance.

A memorial has been established in his memory to Houghton Fire and Rescue.
