She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Whittemore and Irene Whittemore (Tollman); her husband Robert "Bob" Peel; and her siblings, Larry Whittemore, Reva Gorman and Beverly Hohl.

She is survived by: her former husband Norbert Wellman; her close friend Bill Newton; her children, Tim Wellman, Lori Burke (Shannon) of Walker, Iowa and Eric Wellman (Kelley) of Lenexa, Kansas; her stepchildren, Robert J Peel Jr., Christine Richmond and Gena Garcia; her siblings, Donna Tenpenny, Bill Whittemore, Carol Huss, Sally Brickey and Greg Whittemore; and her grandchildren, Mariah, Allisyn, Taylor, Connor, Sydney, Alex, Luke, Sarah and Ryan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her special foster daughter.
