We are sad to announce that on January 18, 2020, at the age of 93, Eileen Wheeler (West Point, Iowa), born in Fort Madison, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Mertens and Eleanor Mertens (Rueter); and her siblings, Mary Feik, Judith Moeller, Elvera Carney and Francis Mertens.
She is survived by: her children, Jolene Moon (Steve) of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Barbara Victorson (Clay) of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Kaye Carrier (Chris) of Urbandale, Iowa, Sarah Wheeler of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Patricia Roby (Stan) of St. Helens, Mary Wheeler of Burlington, Iowa and Michael Wheeler (Barbra) of West Point; her siblings, Joe Mertens of Farmington, Gerald Mertens (Dorothy) of Donnellson, Iowa, Audrey Holtkamp (Henry) of West Point and Vivian Stuekerjuergen of West Point; her grandchildren, Beth McDermott (Ed), Ross Hoewing, Eric Victorson, Marc Victorson (Natalie), Brian Carrier, Brett Carrier, Jivan Sobrinho-Wheeler, Tara Morehouse (Eric), Shannon Powers (Andrew), Flannery Wheeler (Colin Beals), Patrick Wheeler (Jennifer Melcher), Jason Roby and Kyle Roby; and her great grandchildren, Delaney, Louis, John Patrick and Ryan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for Hope Haven Group Home, contributions may be made at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home. 412 Avenue C, P.O. Box 247, West Point or at the church during the service.
