He was predeceased by: his parents, Don D. Wilkins and Dorothy M. Wilkins (Slee); his parents-in-law, Ed and Garnett Rider; his brothers, Craig and Gene; his sister-in-law Pat; and his granddaughters, Grace Nimke and Sydney Nimke.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Tom Wilkins (Donna) of Pleasantville, Jani Wickett (Greg) of Humboldt and Deb Nimke (Kevin) of Eldridge, Iowa; and his grandchildren, Brant Wilkins, Aaron Wilkins, Mason Wickett (Taylor), Ryder Wickett, Grant Nimke and Derek Nimke. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schmitz Funeral Homes - West Point (502 Avenue E, West Point, IA 52656). A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established in his memory for Holy Trinity Catholic School or West Point Fire and Rescue.
