It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Simon of West Liberty, Iowa, who passed away on July 23, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Simon and Doris Simon (Herring); his son-in-law Mark Tompkins; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Smith, Peter Koenig, Rob Black and Richard Ping.

He is survived by: his wife Janet Ping; his children, Steven Simon (Keely), Jacqueline Tompkins, Jerry Simon (Brenda) and Shawna Mueller (Kevin); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Shane, Amber, Heather, Megan, Shari, Kennedi, Cassedi, Madeline, Tanner and Hallie; and his siblings, Betty Smith, Joe Simon (Mary Ellen), Jean Ann Feldman (Don), Patti Koenig, Mary Sue Cline and Connie Black. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.
