She was predeceased by: her parents, Alva Smith and Antonetta Smith (Petersen); her sisters, Helen and Florin Smith (Hugh); and her son-in-law Wayne Pierce.
She is survived by: her husband Hugh Probst; her children, Steven Probst (Jan) of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Cinda Pierce of Muscatine, Linda Olsen (Dave) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Bob Probst of West Liberty and Tom Probst (Carolyn) of West Liberty; and her sisters, Lucille Bergthold (Raymond) of Dallas and Joyce Juvan of North Liberty. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Betty's memory to the Muscatine Women's Domestic Violence Shelter, donations may be mailed to Cinda Pierce 1211 Logan Street Muscatine, Iowa 52761.
