He was predeceased by: his parents, William Riess and Frances Riess; his wife Beverly Wynn; his siblings-in-law, Parke Behn, Bud Bowers and Colleen Bowers; and his nephew Brock Behn.
He is survived by: his sister Ramona; his daughter Jennifer Lundberg (Tim); his grandchildren, Luke and Alexandra; his sister Sandra Hyde (Dexter, family: Ramona Hall); and his sister-in-law Marlene Behn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the University of Northern Iowa Foundation or to Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines.
