He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Schmitz (Schafer) and Robert Schmitz; his son Nick Foell; and his parents-in-law, Floyd and Delores Kauffman.
He is survived by: his daughter Ashley Baldwin (Alec) of Denver, CO; his wife Holly Schmitz; his daughter Heather Lasansky (Rory); his granddaughter Lila Lasansky of Iowa City; and his sister Carrie Schmitz of Houston. He is also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and countless brothers and sisters.
