He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleo Hansen and Esther Hansen; his wife LeNore; his sister Mary Lee; his son Dennis; and his granddaughter Jennifer Madison.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Madison (Steve), Brent Hansen (Rosa) and Julie Phillips (John). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and six siblings.
He was a member of the I-Club, the Kinnick Society, the University of Iowa Foundation President's Club, Varsity Club Honorary Letter Winner and was National I-Club Hawk of the Year.
