With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Ellen Slycord (West Des Moines, Iowa), born in Agency, Iowa, who passed away on December 17, 2019 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ethel Leeling and John Leeling; her husband Harold W. Slycord; her son Douglas Slycord (Linda); her grandchildren, Todd Slycord (Jenny) of Waukee and Dr. Susan Keyser (Logan) of North Liberty, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Cydni, Silas Slycord and Callahan Keyser; and also Lejla. She was also cherished by her nieces and nephews.
A small remembrance by family and friends will be in The Gallery at Hamilton's on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA on Monday, December 23 at 2:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Western Hills Elementary School, West Des Moines, Iowa.
