It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Francis Dolan of West Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Dolan and Kathleen Dolan (Johnson); his wife Birdie; his parents-in-law, Mervin (Buzz) and Doris Groesbeck; his sisters, Phyllis Young and Mary Kay Mueller; and his sister-in-law Linda Groesbeck.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Dolan (Karen) of Des Moines, Renee Dolan of East Lansing, MI and Matthew Dolan; his grandchildren, Noah Dolan (Elise), Aubreeanna Sink (Kris) and Rylee Dolan; his pet Ginger; his siblings, Steve Dolan of Menlo, Carolyn Dolan of Bolingbrook, IL, Dan Dolan of Ankeny and Mike Dolan (Jami) of Edmond, OK; and also Father Guthrie Dolan. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1627 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation or Sacred Heart Church.
