It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert L. Rod in West Des Moines, Iowa, born in Groton, South Dakota, who passed away on May 22, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Rod and Adeline Rod (Blader); his stepmother Irma Rod; his sister Joan Engquist; and his siblings-in-law, Howard Engquist, Ronald Imm, Wayne Kuehn and Patricia Imm.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Imm; his children, David Rod (Sue) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Donna Rod (Scott Figg) of Bettendorf, IA, Karen Andeweg of Urbandale, IA and Kathleen Bozis (Ryan) of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren, Liza Womeldorf (Zac), Alex Rod (Bri), Griffin Rod, Christina Andeweg (Max Ewart) and Erin Andeweg; and his great grandchild Elin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Des Moines Symphony Orchestra or Bread for the World.
