With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis Wheeler of West Des Moines, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa, who passed away on June 21, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Umpleby and Helen Umpleby; her husband Gilbert Wheeler; and her brother William Umpleby. She is survived by: her children, Larry Wheeler (Ann) and Janet Stewart (Randy); her grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler, Marc Wheeler, Ryan Stewart and Brett Stewart (Kelcee); and her great grandchildren, Charlotte Wheeler, Henry Wheeler and Ashton Stewart.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the West Des Moines Christian Church or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
