It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Opal Pauline McNitt (West Des Moines, Iowa), who passed away on October 22, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, David Rees and Ethel Rees; her husband Stanley Surber; and her children, Cheryl and Kevin.

She is survived by: her son-in-law Glen Jesse; and her brother Merrill Rees. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a stepson, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Des Moines United Methodist Church or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
