Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Myrna Highlander of West Des Moines, Iowa, born in Sparta, Missouri, who passed away at the age of 86, on April 13, 2023. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Weter and Roma Weter (Johnson); her daughter Rhonda Highlander; and her sisters, Nell Jean Gann, Laurena Henson, Charleen Turner and Coyee Swearengin.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathi Rice (Texas) and Cherie; her adoptive son Tom Bell (Iowa); her grandchildren, Natalie Short, Lorie Naumann, Jenny Yantes, Kate Laufer, Caleb Bell, Misty Willis, Krystal Rice Travis Rice and Garrett Rice; and her siblings, Jacque Neuenschwander and Ray Weter. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
She loved her south Kansas City home for 57 years before moving to an apartment in Iowa in 2020 (just as Covid was hitting) with her 3 cats.
