He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Kaschmitter and Katherine Kaschmitter (Kollasch); his wife Julie; his children, Lisa Vogel (Randy) and Mark Kaschmitter (Bronda); his grandchildren, Luke and Elizabeth Kaschmitter; his sisters, Jane Kelly and Joan Nelson (Paul); his brothers-in-law, Larry Roehrkasse (Karol), John Roehrkasse (Nancy) and Don Roehrkasse (Ann); his nieces and nephews, Judi, Tim Hieb, Michael Hieb, David Hieb, Kris and Todd Miler; his former wife Sharon Kaschmitter (Roehrkasse); and his sister Burnita (Peter).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Church of Hope or Eastern Iowa Lutheran Bible Camp and Retreat Center (Ewalu) at Strawberry Point.
