Maria Otilia Chalfant Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Otilia Chalfant of West Des Moines, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her husband Robert W. Chalfant; her children, Gerard Berber (Guadalupe) and Sharmein M. Carder (Daniel); her grandsons, Gerardo Berber Jr., Grant Carder and George Carder; her stepgrandsons, Gabe, Luis and Felipe Saldana; and her sons, Jose Luis and Manuel.

Visitation was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1627 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, IA 50265). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at the Resthaven Cemetery (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265).
