He was predeceased by: his parents, Guadalupe and Manuel Valdez, Sr.; and his siblings, Jesse, Freddie, Eula, Emily, Esperanza, Aurora, Joseph, Louise, John and Jessie.
He is survived by: his son-in-law Kelly McCarty; his wife Helen; his children, Tony Valdez (Eileen), Vicki Hallman (Tom) and Julie McCarty (Kelly); his grandchildren, Heidi Valdez (Larry), Aaron Valdez (Deanna), Nick Hallman (Kate), Cal McCarty and Corey McCarty; and his siblings, Darrell Valdez and Frances Gallardo. He is also survived by his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews.
He died peacefully in his sleep at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Kelly McCarty, where he had stayed this past year during the pandemic, yet his heart and his roots never left Valley Junction.
