He was predeceased by: his wife Mary "Dolly"; his parents, William and Catherine; his siblings, Kenneth (Irene), Donald (Lois), Elizabeth Kukuska (Jerry), Robert (Gladys), Mary Hoel (George), Lyle (Sis) and Richard; his son-in-law Jeffrey Vens; and his grandson Daniel Hernandez Cameron.
He is survived by: his children, John, Samuel (Carol), Paul (Denise), Karen Vens, James (Karrin) and Katherine Kozlowski (David). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Vincent de Paul of Des Moines.
