He was predeceased by: his parents, Gearold, Sr. Johnson and Leone Johnson (Rook); his sister Anna Marie "Ree"; his brother-in-law Norman Reeves of Norfolk, VA; and his friend Russ Waters (Gina) of Norwalk.
He is survived by: his significant other Debbie Richards; his significant other's child Ellie Richards (Reta); his grandchildren, Hailey Askland, Emily Askland, Tristan Johnson, Bryce Johnson, Jaycie Johnson and Arianna Sills; his sister Penny Dickson (Gene) of Des Moines; and also, Stacey Askland (Dave) of Milo and Lance Johnson (Amy Walters) of Des Moines. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
