We are sad to announce that on January 28, 2022, at the age of 81, Irene Rachel Carter (West Des Moines, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband David; her son Paul; and her parents, Alfred Heiberg and Maymie Heiberg. She is survived by: her children, Charles (Susan McCuen) of Des Moines, Leann Birt (Terry) of Des Moines, Kim Smith of Des Moines and Terry (Robin) of Des Moines; and her siblings, Jean Pearson Hawley, Flora Braseth of Darwin, MN and Alfred Heiberg of Hawley, MN.. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
