She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Melaas and Madelia Melaas (Kalsem); and her brothers, Donald, Bruce and Joseph.
She is survived by: her husband Willard Canine; and her children, Craig (Myla Sherburne) of Eastsound, WA, Cathy Riggs of Martinez, CA and Steve (Kate Breen) of Piedmont, CA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
