He was predeceased by: his parents, Cletus Goebel and Jeanette Goebel (Heck); his brother Donnie Smith; and his grandson Schyler Coder. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Goebel (Counsell); his children, Tammy Altman (Erik) of Des Moines, IA, Jennifer Coder (Joseph), West, Laurie Kazeze (Patrick) of Ankeny, IA, Jeremy Bass of Oskaloosa, IA and Angela Sumpter (Matthew) of Adel, IA; and his siblings, Dale Goebel, Jean Evers of Edina, MN and Bill Goebel (Beth). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
