He is survived by: his wife Helen Bosel of Lisbon, OH.; his son Doug McCloskey (Carin) of Runnells, IA; his grandchildren, Taylor of Omaha, NE and Rachel of Circle Pines, MN; his siblings, George McCloskey (Maryann) of Norway, IA and Donna Smith (Fred) of Waukee, IA; his sister-in-law Kathy Hartman of Lisbon, OH; and his close friend Dianne Barkley.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the McLaren's Resthaven Chapel. A burial was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at the Resthaven Cemetery (801 19th St, West Des Moines, IA 50265).
