We are sad to announce that on June 7, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Donald Poppen in West Des Moines, Iowa, born in Fort Dodge, Iowa. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marinus Poppen and Mareka Poppen (Ihnen) of Pocahontas County, Iowa.; his former wife Ann Feulner; his stepmother Hanna; and his siblings, Clarence, Raymond, Lorraine and Vernon.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey L. Bettin; his sister Marian Sheffield of North Platte, Nebraska; his daughters, Dawn Work-MaKinne (George) of Des Moines and Susan Leeper (Russ) of Charles City, Iowa; his nieces, Lana Feulner of Newport Beach and Shelley Amber Wood of Scottsdale, Arizona; and his grandchildren, Aubrey Key of Grinnell, Joshua and Lukas Kirby of Kansas City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
At a future date, when the concerns and precautions over COVID-19 have lifted, there will be a memorial service in Odebolt, Iowa.
Memorials will be given to the Alzheimer's Association and National Aphasia Association.
