He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McNeill of Onawa; his children, Ann Krone (Kevin), Stacy Thompson (Dana), Tom Gaukel (Elizabeth Brinsfield) and Erich Gaukel (Moni); and his grandchildren, Abby, Jonathan, Nick Krone, Geneva, Hanne, Leo Gaukel, Jonas, Caroline Thompson, Spencer and Nathaniel Gaukel.
