He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Smith and Sarah Smith (Sally); his brothers, Larry Smith and Steven Dodge; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Smith and Judy Smith; his son-in-law Daniel; and his grandson Adam Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy Smith; his siblings, Chuck Smith (Kris), Leon Smith, Cheryl Cartwright (Frank), Sally Johnson (Todd), Deb Fuerman (Bob), Nancy Saunders and Mary Umbaugh; and his children, Michelle Stultz, Mark, Julie Smith, Mike Smith, Melissa Smith, Bert and Stephanie Smith. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
