He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Phelps and Laura Phelps (Wiekert); his wife Marilyn; his stepson Michael Alan Gallagher (Phelps); his siblings, Mary Virginia Phelps, Gracie Stucker (Jim) and Wesley; his brothers-in-law, Jim Timmsen and Fred Howe; and his grandson James Wayne Phelps.
He is survived by: his children, Lorri Jay, Brad Jay, Lorri Parker (Dan), Stanley Bradford Phelps (Dee) of Mt, Brian Jay Phelps of Twin Falls, Kerry Lynn Heilskov (Jason) of North Liberty, Cindy Sue Phelps of West Burlington, Andrew Phelps (Marissa) of West Liberty and Teaspoon Phelps of Lone Tree; his grandchildren, Sarah Rodgers, Holly Fry Trimble, Mathew J., Brian Brooks, Christa Brooks, Alex Phelps, Jay Levi Phelps, Dylan L. Phelps, Cayli Bonn Phelps, Sherri Luettjohan, Justin W. Luettjohan, Harley Phelps, Joshua Heilskov and Benjamin Phelps; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Shyanna, Kalas, Lucas, Kinzi, Israel, Isabelle, Wyatt, Elliott, Myah, Aiden, Kyler, Zachary, Olivia, Braden, Japhes, Kami, Debbie and Madison; his siblings, June Phelps, Anne Howe, Lila DeBourcy (Harry) and Ruth Timmsen; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Phelps.
