It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Eudora Nixon Waddell of West Burlington, Iowa, born in Lomax, Illinois, who passed away on September 7, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Nixon and Hazel Waterman Nixon; her husband Robert Waddell; her siblings, Ethyl Lafond, Helen Halferty, Ernest, George, Glenn and Howard Nixon; and her grandchildren, James Farris, Tim Farris, Ryan Howell and Jennifer Howell.
She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Boulton of Burlington, Teresa Diewold (Jeff) of Burlington and Roberta Howell (Tim Hawkins) of Burlington; her grandchildren, Laura Holt, Patrick Diewold, Andrew Diewold, Jamie Howell and Katie Howell Royer; and her sister Irene Jones of Burlington. She is also survived by many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Humane Society.
