Joseph Loy Sullivan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on March 25, 2022, at the age of 81, Joseph Loy Sullivan of West Burlington, Iowa, born in Truro, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold C. Sullivan and Viola I. Treat Sullivan; his former wife Janice G. Kinney; his brothers, Delbert, Leland, Patrick, Samuel and Thomas Sullivan; and his stepson Timothy Lyon.
He is survived by: his wife Melanie M. Sullivan of West Burlington; his children, Joseph Scott Sullivan (Mary) of Mt. Airy and Dina Allen (Jerry) of Ft. Madison; his stepchildren, Jennifer Reece (Randy) of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey Lyon (Joni); his grandchildren, Lynnae Allen Wallet (Zack) of Davenport, Christian Sullivan of Stuart, Virginia and Kaitlyn Sullivan of Greensboro; his stepgrandchildren, Caden, Ella, Maggie Reece, Tate and Tyge Lyon; and his nephews, Steve, Rick and David Sullivan.
Mr. Sullivan also enjoyed golf, fishing, computer games, casino machines, Jigsaw puzzles, and meeting the a special group of friends known as "the couch potatoes" on weekday mornings for coffee until Covid-19 put a stop to it.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Burlington Bowling Association Junior Bowlers.
