It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Mesler of West Burlington, Iowa, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on February 11, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Mesler and Irma M. Thoisen Mesler; and his wife Monica Meyer. He is survived by: his children, Ann Marie Kirk of Burlington, Jean Elizabeth Helling (Leon) of Ankeny, IA, Thomas James Mesler (Deborah) of Windham Summit, PA and Patrick Joseph Mesler (Anna) of Burlington; his grandchildren, Janette Yenchko, Eric Rahn (Natasha Knutson), Jana Rahn-Kilfoy (Timothy), Nathaniel Poli (Kristina), Brooke Poli, Summer Mesler, Lily Mesler, Breana Williams-Hawkins (Michael) and Gage Mesler; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Claire, Logan Yenchko, Luca Rahn, Kaden, Addison Kilfoy, Sydney, Avery and James DeWayne "J. D." Hawkins; and his sister Mary Houck of Aurora, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
