He is survived by: his wife Ellen Smith; his daughters, Jennifer Palmer (Tom) of North Liberty and Kathryn Brune (Matt) of Fairfax, Iowa; his grandsons, Brandon and Nolan Brune; his stepgrandsons, Jamie Palmer (Brittany) and Shawn Palmer; his nephew Tom Shovlain; and his niece Tina Norris (Mulcahy).
A memorial has been established in his memory for West Burlington Christian Church.
