He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hinkhouse and Doris Hinkhouse. He is survived by: his siblings, Richard Hinkhouse (Anji) of West Branch, Clifford Hinkhouse (Monica) of West Branch, Glenn Hinkhouse (Pam) of West Branch and Hilda Bowers (Bill) of West Liberty; and his nephews, Robert Hinkhouse (Michelle Hinkhouse), Jonathan Hinkhouse (Amy Neufeld), Christopher Hinkhouse, Kelly Potthoff, Ryan Bowers and Dustin Bowers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Simpson Memorial Home or St. Croix Hospice.
