He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Ellyson and Ina Ellyson (Thomas); his wife Catherine "Kaye" Murphy; and his brothers, Philip and Iral.
He is survived by: his children, Greg Ellyson (Kat) of West Branch and Pamela K. Long of Ankeny; his grandson Thad Long (Stacey Young-Long) of Bondurant; his great grandchildren, Ellyson "Elly", Louis and Simon; his granddaughter Catherine Downing (Jason) of Norwalk; and his great grandchildren, Jace and Taylor.
Social distancing guidelines will be in place and masks are required please.
Instead of flowers and plants, the family suggests memorial donations to Iowa City Hospice, West Branch Lion's Club or the West Branch American Legion.
