With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Florence (Petersen) Bennett of West Branch, Iowa, who passed away on May 13, 2021 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Bill Bennett (Francis William); her daughter Sheila; her sister Dorothy Gongwer; her parents, Victor Petersen and Lillian Petersen; and her stepmother Alberta Petersen.

She is survived by: her children, Brian Bennett (Lisa), Bruce Bennett (Pamela) and Denise Ward (Jon); her grandchildren, David Bennett (Lara Guttia), Christopher Bennett, Benjamin Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Robert Mays Jr. (Euliza), Caitlin Ward and Charles Ward (Mandi); her great grandchildren, Maddox Bennett, Carson Bennett, Robert H. Mays III, Xavier Mays, Taylor Mays and Brittni Mays; her great great grandchild Zoe Mays; her siblings, Carroll Petersen (Alberta) and Shirley Budreau; her sisters-in-law, Ann Bennett and Pat Bennett; and her friend Kevin Lurth (Molly). She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
