He was predeceased by: his parents, Marius Friis and Alice Friis (Larson); his sons, Jon Friis and Joseph Friis; his daughter-in-law Shari; his parents-in-law, William and Marie Forrest; his brother Paul; and his sisters-in-law, Janet Friis, Jean Light, Kathleen Vanous and Dale Light.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Friis of West Branch; and his children, James Friis, Jason Friis, Ellen Ehle (Joe) and Erin Mok (Eric). He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
