He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Schafer Jr. and Marie Schafer (Schneider) of West Bend; and his sons, Kyle and Kirk. He is survived by: his sons, Kelly Schafer (Laura) of St. Joseph, IA, Kasey Schafer (Katie) of West Bend and Kregg Schafer (Stephanie) of West Bend; his grandchildren, Kyle, Kelsey (Ethan), Jordan of Yakima, WA, Clara, Henry, Cora, Cannon, Cambria, Cutler, Noah and Gabe; his great grandchildren, Quinn and Kate; and his sister Donna Brechler of Milford, IA..
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lentz Funeral Home (104 1st Ave SW, West Bend, IA 50597). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - Sts. Peter (206 1st Ave NW, West Bend, IA 50597).
