He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl L. Stevens and Dora; his wife Janet; and his sisters, Ione and Darlene.

He is survived by: his sons, Scott Stevens (Cathy) of Marshalltown and Shawn Stevens of West Bend; his granddaughters, Allison DenHartog (Jordan) of Urbandale and Janelle DeGeest (Jesse) of Altoona; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte and Amelia.
