He was predeceased by: his parents, Ardell Flaten and Marcella Flaten (Sletten); and his brother Rick Flaten. He is survived by: his daughter Kari Madson (Matthew); his grandchildren, Nicole (Jordan), Wesley and Kimberly; his daughter Kristi Ostercamp (Dick); his grandchildren, Scott (Sarah), Steven (Alyssa), Joshua and Jackie (Seth); his daughter Kyla Flaten; his grandchildren, Alex (Kara) and Audry (Chance); his daughter Katie Spieker (Derrick); his grandchildren, Dalten, Mackenzie, Landon and Remington; his great grandchildren, Adelaide, Ian, Peyton, Emberlee, Waylan, Oaklynn, Aspen and Sophia; and his siblings, Susan Johnson (George) and Wayne (Jan).
