He was predeceased by: his parents, William Deters and Nellie Deters (Ackerman); and his siblings, Rodney Deters, Ronald Deters and Mildred Knutson.
He is survived by: his former wife Darla Meyer; his daughters, Mindy Paulson (Jonathan) and Amy Eskov (David) of Olathe, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Noah, Lauryn, Ethan and Ava. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes for memorials in Wally's name to be directed to the Iowa Barn Foundation.
