It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christian Balvanz (Wellsburg, Iowa), born in Eldora, Iowa, who passed away on March 17, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Bob Balvanz and Ruth Balvanz (Barz); and his father-in-law Alvin Nolte. He is survived by: his wife Christine Louise Nolte; his children, Antonia Balvanz (Maryn Tourtelotte) of Finland, Sarah Balvanz of Mason City, Iowa, Christopher Balvanz (Tawny Wehan) of Eldora and Joshua Balvanz (Nora) of Eldora, Iowa.; his siblings, Vernon Balvanz (Maisy) of Mexico, Elaine Grubbs (Dick) of Davenport, Nancy Hofmeister of Rowan, Keith Balvanz (Cindy) of Wellsburg, Katie Avery (Ray) of Mt. Vernon and Pam Wenndt (Todd) of Asbury, Iowa; his mother-in-law Dianne Notle; and his brothers-in-law, Todd Nolte (Verla) of Ackley and Wade Nolte (Natalie Vandenborn). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; four aunts and one uncle.
