He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. McGaffey and Frances McGaffey (Sojka); and his stepson Jon McVey. He is survived by: his children, Juston McGaffey (Stephanie) of Griswold, John McGaffey of Wellman and Heather Wesenberg (Patrick) of Coralville; his grandchildren, Matthew, Maylee, Selena, Ella, Anna, Anthony, Gracie, Scott, Rian, Zara and Jace; and his siblings, James McGaffey, Joseph McGaffey, Valorie Burnham, Robert McGaffey, Deanne McGaffey, Douglas McGaffey, Donald McGaffey, Janelle Christensen, Mark McGaffey, Johnna Stultz, Karen Snyder and Perry McGaffey.
In lieu of flowers, a general memorial fund has been established.
