She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Edward and Wilma Jean Hohenshell (Morrow). She is survived by: her husband Harry Lee Karnes; her children, Rick Karnes (Cindy Huffman) of Iowa City, Brian Karnes (Cathy Nietiedt) of Hannibal, Kent Karnes (Katie) of Richmond and Crystal McFarland (Rick Adamire) of Chiefland, Florida; her grandchildren, Kelsey Slay (Jeromy) of Kalona, Kendall Smith (Emily) of Coralville, Taylor Albright (Drew) of Kalona, Austin McFarland of Burlington, Billie Jo McFarland of Indiana, Koby Karnes of Richmond and Kyla Karnes of Richmond; her great grandchildren, Ethan, Myles, Avery, Jackson Slay, Dax, Zayne Smith and Cheyenne Albright; and her siblings, Connie Messer (Lain) of Washington and Larry Hohenshell (Linda) of Ankeny.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be sent to Mid-Prairie Foundation, Wellman Fire Department or Volunteer Ambulance Service.
