He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann White; his children, Gregory Schmida of Washington, IA, Jane Augspurger (Kip) of Des Moines, IA, Milton J. Schmida (Jackie) of LaCrosse, WI, Molly Lugar (Steve) of Kalona, IA, Patrick Schmida (Michel) of Altoona, IA and Heather Gudenkauf (Scott) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his siblings, Beverly Vearrier of Rapids City, SD, Kae Pugh (Jerry) of San Diego, CA, Larry Schmida (Susan) of Rapids City, SD, Robert Schmida (Colleen) of Omaha, NE, Stephan Schmida (Pat) of Austin, MN and Mary Ann Titus of Sioux Falls, SD; and his brother-in-law Dr. Ray Wahl of Colorado Springs, CO.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Washington County and St. Joseph's Church in Wellman.
