It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Bontrager of Wellman, Iowa, who passed away on January 3, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Bontrager and Lydia Ann Bontrager (Yoder); his daughter Shirley Chupp-Weaver; and his siblings, Allen, Tobe, John, Joe, Ruben, Marvin Bontrager and Fannie Bontrager.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Stutzman; his children, Duane Bontrager (Alana) of Kalona, Linda Bontrager of South Carolina, Marvin Bontrager (Carol) of Kalona, Barbara Applegate (Tom) of Iowa City, Glen Bontrager (Jennifer) of Washington, Judy Christiansen (Kevin) of Wellman and Robert "Sonny" Bontrager (Jaynie) of Wellman; and his siblings, Barbara Bender, Anna Knepp, Jonas Bontrager, Elva Chupp (Sammie) and Martin Bontrager (Peg). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren.
