He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Ward, Jean Heaton, Philip and Viola Crawford. He is survived by: his parents, David Heaton and Carmen Heaton (Crawford) of Mount Pleasant; his sister Mary (Ben Carrick); his niece Sophie; and his nephew Patrick Carrick. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established for the Iowa Wesleyan University Choir.
