He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Shirkey and Marolyn Shirkey (Conrad); his parents-in-law, Daniel and Maxine Greenfield; and his brother-in-law Daniel Greenfield.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Greenfield; his sons, DJ Shirkey (Traci) of Keota and Jerry Shirkey (Rosanna) of Kalona; his grandchildren, Kaylee Shirkey, Dawson Stutzman and Jagger Shirkey; and his siblings, Sherry Ortisky (Glenn), Anna Mae Story of Winfield, Lora Fisher (Jim) of Sigourney, Mary Bishop of Richland and Mike Shirkey (Bobbie) of Killen, Alabama..
