Barbara (Elizabeth) Kanagy Obituary
We bid farewell to Barbara (Elizabeth) Kanagy of Wellman, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 22, 2024 at the age of 94. Barbara touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Earl and Lydia Marner (Yoder); her siblings, Lucille Marner, Lois Marner, Verda Marner, Lowell Marner and Clair Marner (Juanita); and her daughter-in-law Kathy Kanagy (James).
She is survived by: her children, John D. Kanagy of Union, MO, Robert J. Kanagy (Anita) of Wellman, JoAnne E. Bird (Randy) of Hamilton, IL, James Kanagy of Parnell, Charles L. Kanagy (Judy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Ruth K. Dorr (Mark) and Steven L. Kanagy (Lisa) of Grundy Center; and her brother Marvin Marner (Helen) of Hills. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home (504 12th St, Kalona, IA 52247). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
A memorial fund has been established for West Union Mennonite Church and Mennonite Central Committee.
