He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Gent and Mary Gent (Clarahan); his daughters, Susan Boege (Merlyn) and Connie Davis (Mike); his son-in-law Gary Mather; his brothers, John, Hubert and Leo; and his siblings-in-law, Karen Gent and Frank McDonald.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Holderness; his children, Mike Gent (Shirley), Rose McCammant (Lorren), Deb Rethman (Rick), Mary Brandon (Bob), Angie Elder (Jim), John Gent (Beth), Kathy Heeren (Paul) and Tom Gent (Amy); and his siblings, Henrietta O'Connell (Frank), Pauline McDonald (Frank), Ellen Morrison (Wayne), Raymond (Donna), Marvin (Karen) and Pat Gent (Mary). He is also survived by his children, 28 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.
